Upper Mustang Trekking:

This is one of the most beautiful trek for those who are seeking best trekking destination for experiencing Buddhist Culture. Upper Mustang Trekking is one of the most remote places on earth- this place brings you to witness pure Tibetan Buddhist Culture. Importantly, the culture is unchanged since 14th Century.

Hence, the region is very rich in Buddhist monasteries, Cave Monasteries (some of them are over 1000 years old). Moreover, beautiful landscape with far stretched snow mountains make you fall in love with this place.

Here the journey starts flying to Jomsom first and start to trek via Kaligandaki river corridor. You may find genuine fossils of sea creatures on the river bank. The valley once used to be sea bed. During the trek, you can see several snow mountains, including Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhampus Peak, etc.

En route to Lo Manthang you’ll be stopping by several beautiful villages which are culturally rich and picturesque eg. Syangbuche, Gami, Darmer, etc.

Once, the Upper Mustang valley used to be a different kingdom and the Lo-Manthang used to be the capital town. There are several cave monasteries perched high on the cliff. Some of them having few stories high inside and with Buddhist paintings and old cooking utensils. Chhoser Cave is one example of them. And there are several such beautiful caves around the valley. Some of them still unexplored.

Day03: Drive to Jomsom (2,700m) and Kagbeni (2,810m)

Day04: Kagbeni to Chele (3,050m), 5-6 hours

Day05: Chele to Syanbochen (3,475m), 6-7 hours

Day06: Syanbochen to Ghami (3,520m), 5-6 hours

Day07: Ghami to Tsarang (3,620m) 5-6 hours

Day08: Tsarang to Lo-Manthang and explore Lo manthang(3,730m), 3-4 hours

Day09: Explore Lo Manthang and hike to chhoser cave

Day10: Lo-Mangthang to Drakmar (3810m), 6-7 hours

Day11: Drakmar to Ghiling (3,806m), 5-6 hours

Day12: Ghiling to Chhuksang (3050m), 5-6 hours
