Gokyo Lakes Trek:
This trek is one of the most beautiful trek in the Everest region. Gokyo Lakes Trek takes you to highest lakes in the world and the view is simply superb. There is a View point above the lake, few hundred meters higher up, from here you can see far stretched breathtaking views of the snow mountains, Valleys, Lakes and many more. The mountains you can see from here are- Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse, Makalu, Kusum Kangaru. Mt. Thamserku (6608m), Tabuche (6501m), Cholatse (6440m) are also in front of you.
You’ll have an unforgettable memory of such a beauty of Nature. The trail is rich in culture as well. You’ll be passing by several Monasteries, Gompas and Prayer wheels. Even walking with those prayer wheels along the route brings you peace and harmony on your mind. Along the route you can interact with the local Sherpa people, join on their daily life. Sherpa people are residents of the mountain and conquerors of the Himalayas.
The journey begins flying from Kathmandu to Lukla and start to walk along the Dudhkoshi river. First night at Phakding and second night at Namche. Namche is a large village with souvenir shops, Trekking & Climbing equipment shops, Restaurants, Local bars, money exchange counters, etc. There is headquarter of the Sagarmatha (everest) National Park and also have a mountain Museum.
The lower part of the trail is rich in Flora and Fauna. You’ll have a great chance to see some wild animals, eg. Musk deer, Himalayan thar, Himalayan Monal, Snow leopard, etc.
