 “Annapurna Base Camp Trek” is a very popular trek in Nepal.  Mt. Annapurna (8091 m) is top 10th highest mountain in the planet. This short trek takes you to the Mt Annapurna and close to the Himalayan glacier.  This trek starts from Kathmandu fly to Pokhara and drive to Ulleri (1960m) and start trekking. This trekking trail passes through Rhododendron forest, several waterfalls, villages, etc. 

This trek brings you to Ghorepani-poonhill (3210 m) then counties towards the final destination – ABC. During this trek, you’ll pass by interesting places like Tadapani, Chhomrong, Sinuwa, etc.  With several farmlands and local villages giving you an insight into the local culture while you are passing by Chuile, Ghurjung, Chhomrong, etc.

The trail follows Modi river making you up and down walk before reaching MBC (Machhapuchre Base Camp) then to Annapurna base camp where you can get an eye-catching Annapurna Glacier and from here also you can see 360degree mountain view of Himalayas eg.   Himchuli (6441 meter), Annapurna south (7219 meter), Baraha chuli (7867m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m), Mt. Fishtail (6997m) whole trek.

During the wintertime, there could be snow en route to Poonhill and ABC. In that case, you’ll be needed to prepare crampons. Each day you’ll need to walk around five to six hours. And you’ll have a lunch break at mid-day.

There are several tea houses or mountain lodges where you’ll be staying overnight. Most of the lodges have electricity during the night time.

Day to Day Itinerary

 

Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

                We’ll pick you up in Kathmandu then transfer you to the hotel in Thamel. 

Day02: Fly to Pokhara (823m)

We’ll fly to Pokhara after having a healthy breakfast. It’s a short flight. Afternoon time we’ll explore Pokhara valley by visiting World Peace Stupa, Devi’s Fall, Gupteswar cave, Fewa Lake, etc.

Day 03:  Drive to Ulleri (1960m) and trek to Ghorepani (2874)

After Breakfast we’ll drive to Ulleri whoch takes around 3hrs and start to Walk. Ulleri is a small pun magar village where you can see mountains, traditional houses, School, etc. After lunch we have follows a historic old trade route between Nepal and Tibet. The trail is through rhododendron forest. 

Day 04: Ghorepani to tadapani/chulea (2690m ) with a visit to Poon Hill: 6 – 7 hours   

                We’ll wake up early in the morning for the sunrise view. We’ll be walking about 45mins up to Poonhill from where we can see fantastic Sunrise view along with the Himalayan Range. It’s a best views point for sunrise on Mountain. From here you can see incredible many eye catching panoramic mountain views of Dhulagiri range, Annapurna Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8091 m), Annapurna I(8167m), etc.  After sunrise we’ll be back to the hotel and have breakfast before further walking to Tadapani through Rhododendron forest and passing some small villages like, Banthati, Deurali, etc.

 

Day05: Tadapani to Sinuwa (2340 M) 

                           After breakfast we’ll be walking through many farm terraces and giving an insight into the local area like Chuile, Ghurjung , chomorung, Chhomrong, etc. Chhomrong is the last big gurung village to Annapurna base camp. After this village we go down to bridge and climb   up to our destination Sinuwa.

Day 06: Sinuwa to Deurali (3200m)

                        From Snuwa the trekking trail follows Modi river and goes through annapurna valley taking you to Deurali. Before Deurai we’ll be passing by Bamboo and Himalaya village. On the way we’ll encounter several beautiful waterfalls coming down from the high mountains.

Day 07: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4137m)

             This day is our final destination to Annapurna base camp (4110 m).  We’ll have a healthy breakfast at Deurali and follow the Modi river to reach MBC ( Machhapuchre Base Camp- 3700m). After MBC the trail goes up to ABC (Annapurna Base Camp). Finally, we are at ABC. From here you can see 360degree mountain views of Himalayas eg. Himachuli(6441 meter), Annapurna south (7219 meter), Baraha chuli (7867m), Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna III (7555m), Mt. Fishtail (6997m) and many other snow peaks. We’ll be staying overnight here to catch the magnificent Sunset and sunrise view.

 Day 08: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (2340m)

                   After incredible Sunrise view and satisfying breakfast we walk same way back to bamboo. 

Day 09: Bamboo to Pokhara 

                  After breakfast we’ll be walking down to Chhomrong, Jhinu Danda and finally to Matkyu- our end point of the trek. From here we’ll be driving back to Pokhara.

Day 10: Pokhara to Kathmandu 

                        After Breakfast we’ll be driving back to Kathmandu. It’s a scenic drive along the Marsyangdi river & Trisuli river. 

Day 11:  Departure 

Today you’ve a relaxing morning. Depending on your flight time we’ll transfer you to the Airport for your onward journey and will wait to see you again!
