Everest Base Camp Trek:

The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most well-known trekking routes in Nepal, leading deep into the Khumbu region beneath Mount Everest. The trail runs through Sagarmatha National Park, a protected area of glaciers, rivers, and Sherpa settlements, with a clear focus on mountain landscapes and high-altitude trekking.

The journey begins with a mountain flight to Lukla, followed by walking trails that follow the Dudh Koshi River. Suspension bridges, forest paths, and small villages mark the early days of the route. Namche Bazaar serves as an important stop for rest and acclimatization, with mountain views and local bakeries offering a place to slow down and adjust to altitude.

From Namche, the trail continues through villages such as Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche. The landscape becomes more open and rugged as altitude increases, with fewer trees and wider views of surrounding peaks. The route gradually approaches Gorakshep, the final settlement before Everest Base Camp.

Everest Base Camp sits near the Khumbu Icefall, a shifting wall of ice and rock. Many trekkers also hike to Kala Patthar for sunrise views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Ama Dablam. This viewpoint offers one of the clearest perspectives of the region’s highest peaks.

The trek is challenging due to altitude and length, with daily walking times of around 5 to 7 hours. Accommodation is in teahouses along the route. The Everest Base Camp Trek suits trekkers who are ready for a demanding high-altitude journey with strong cultural and mountain experiences.
